In our classroom we do flexible seating- my students are allowed to choose a nontraditional seat during independent work time and center time, but I would like a rug so we could have a designated area for whole group instruction time and read-alouds. A classroom rug would allow my students a safe and comfortable place to come together. The bright colors of the rug I have chosen are inviting and fun. A rug will promote a sense of family and a cozy home feeling, and that is something I strive for my to feel during the day while away from their home.
