Many of my students are preparing for their futures after high school, and having access to a computer will give them an important opportunity to explore colleges, complete college applications, research programs and scholarships, and develop the technology skills they will need in college and beyond. The folders have also helped us keep student work organized and have encouraged students to take greater responsibility for their own materials.\r\n\r\nThe cooking supplies, including mixing bowls, measuring cups, spoons, and spatulas, have allowed us to incorporate valuable life-skills lessons into our classroom. Through cooking activities, students practice measuring, counting, sequencing, reading and following directions, and identifying different tools and ingredients. These activities also help students strengthen communication, cooperation, and turn-taking skills as they work together to prepare simple recipes.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these materials have helped my students become more confident, independent, and involved in their learning.
