My students have the chance to sit in my office/desk chair, but there is only one of those. Otherwise, there is one option only: a standard student desk. For a larger class, there is no real chance to be a little mobile. I have always wanted to offer them a standing desk, in case someone wants to stand for a while. As far as I know, there are no standing desks in any of the classrooms in my building. I can see that some of my students just want to get up and stretch, so often they ask for a pass to the bathroom. I am hoping a desk that they can stand at will allow them a place to work while not having to leave the room or disrupt the class by walking around in the back.
I have great students and it is indeed a long day to be mostly confined to student desks. I believe this will help with their learning as well as help with the physical well-being of their spines.
I am also asking for tissues as I buy them by the caseload for the different classes I teach. Additionally, my pencil sharpener is on its last legs and I would like to get a replacement for the students who still use pencils. Thank you for stopping by to read my proposal.
