Many of my students come from low-income housing. There are not a lot of options for recreational reading in their homes. Giving my students a choice of what they want to read is empowering for them and a gift that will last a lifetime. Continuing to add to my classroom library will open up worlds to my students that they are most likely not able to achieve on their own. The magnetic shelves will be put on the whiteboard to highlight certain titles. I know giving students choice will be a positive light in my classroom.
