Hello! My name is Marna Solete. I'm a native Spanish teacher from Ecuador. I have been working in Proctor High school for more than 12 years. Proctor is a highly diverse school with 3,000+ students, more than 85 different nationalities and 40 languages. For me, working as a foreign Language teacher has become very quite and interesting since I also belong to the diversity of this community . Teaching is always a learning experience specially when you have the opportunity to teach and serve in a very multicultural school. Our school is, even by NYS's own calculations, drastically underfunded. The school, built for 2,000 students, is incredibly overcrowded. Even still, my goal is to make my classroom a safe space where students can reach their fullest potential!
