Many of my students experience chronic emotional trauma that affects their ability to self-regulate, remain engaged, and fully participate in the classroom. These tools have become an essential part of our daily routines and therapeutic supports.\r\n\r\nWe use the SEL and sensory materials consistently to promote grounding, emotional regulation, and readiness for learning. The tools provide students with concrete strategies to manage overwhelming emotions, improve focus, and feel a greater sense of safety and control within the classroom environment. As a result, students demonstrate increased participation, improved attention, and more positive peer and adult interactions. The AirPods have made such a meaningful difference in our classroom, especially for one of my second graders who speaks only Arabic. Before this project, it was difficult for him to fully engage in lessons or communicate his thoughts and needs. Now, thanks to your generosity, he's able to use real-time translation tools that help him understand lessons, directions, and peer conversations in the moment.\r\n\r\nThe technology has truly opened doors for learning. During reading lessons, he can listen to translated vocabulary and participate in partner activities with confidence. In math, he can follow along during small groups and respond to questions right away. The AirPods allow him to connect learning between English and Arabic seamlessly—something that simply wasn't possible before.\r\n\r\nWhat's most exciting for my students is how this small piece of technology has brought everyone closer together. They've become more patient, curious, and inclusive—asking questions about Arabic words, helping translate visuals, and celebrating when their classmate shares new English phrases. It's been amazing to see how technology has built empathy and community in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThis student, in particular, has absolutely blossomed. He smiles more, participates in group discussions, and proudly reads along during story time. These moments remind me why DonorsChoose is so powerful—you didn't just fund AirPods, you gave a child the chance to belong, to learn, and to shine.\r\n\r\nThe AirPods may be small, but the impact on my students' confidence and connection is enormous.
