My students LOVE the new pillows for our classroom reading area. They have used our new markers several times already for class projects to jazz them up a bit. One of the projects was a math poster that they made in groups. They are also enjoying the new recess equipment and have been very responsible so far bringing it all back at the end of recess. Fingers crossed that they keep up those good habits!\r\n They were so excited to see the boxes as they arrived in our classroom and couldn't wait to help me open and unwrap all of our new goodies.\r\n We also use the magnetic sentence strips with our handwriting practice. We are taking on cursive this year and they have been very helpful. These visuals help provide structure, increase independence, and reduce frustration, making it easier for students to understand expectations and actively participate in their learning.\r\nThe new hands-on materials have significantly increased student engagement and opportunities for meaningful play. The magnet-based sets, including community workers, alien creations, trucks, and the car ramp, have encouraged imaginative play, language development, and social interaction. Students are beginning to engage more with peers, take turns, and use more expressive language as they build and create together. These types of play experiences are critical for developing communication and social skills in young learners with autism.\r\nThe light table materials, including sorters and a ten frame, have brought an exciting, multi-sensory component to both math and exploratory learning. Throughout the year there are always a few student headphones that fall apart or stop working for different reasons. It's has given them so much joy and they all come to school happy!!\r\nPersonally, I have used all the Velcro and the card stock to make all of the students new morning binders.
