During our lessons, students are learning the rules, how to serve and return the ball, how to rotate through the squares, and most importantly, how to demonstrate teamwork, fairness, and good sportsmanship. One of my favorite moments was watching students encourage one another as they practiced for the first time. When they first saw the new four square balls, they were excited and eager to get started. Many students immediately recognized the game, while others were curious to learn how to play. Their enthusiasm made the lesson fun, active, and engaging.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building students' four square skills through practice, small-group games, and class challenges. As students become more confident with the rules and strategies, they will be encouraged to use these skills independently during recess. The four square playground balls donated to our program will give students another positive way to stay physically active, socialize with classmates, solve small conflicts, and practice good sportsmanship outside of PE class. Our goal is for students to take what they learn during PE and turn four square into a recess game they can organize and enjoy together.
