These items will be used to help my students learn social skills, money concepts, writing, sorting and everyday pretend play which will help them grow. Using items like playhouse accessories and community helper dress-up will help my students to be able to understand the roles in our world and how we all play a part. We also have to keep our room organized so it is easier to explore, having special sand and water trays will help us to keep our messes easy to clean up so everyone can enjoy! Due to the pandemic many of them have been isolated from the outside world and missed out on many hands-on learning experiences. This not only impacts their social development, but their cognitive development as well. They will use links, magnets and various colored objects to apply math skills and meet content standards such as comparing numbers and counting to tell the number of objects by counting and sorting. Since my students have varying needs the sensory cushions help them to stay focused as they are working. While they are exploring with pretend play they will also be learning content standards to help them grow their vocabulary, apply it to texts that are introduced in the classroom.
