Your support means more than I can fully express, and I am truly grateful that you chose to invest in our students and their well-being.\r\n\r\nAs a middle school counselor, I have the privilege of working with students who are navigating an important and sometimes challenging stage of their lives. Middle school can bring academic pressure, social challenges, family difficulties, anxiety, frustration, and many other emotions that students may not always know how to manage. Sometimes, something as simple as having a snack, a quiet moment, or an appropriate regulation tool can make a tremendous difference in a student's ability to refocus and continue with their day.\r\n\r\nThe snacks you provided will allow me to help students who come into my office hungry or who may not have had an opportunity to eat before school. Hunger can make it extremely difficult for students to concentrate, regulate their emotions, participate in class, or simply feel comfortable throughout the school day. Having snacks available gives students one less thing to worry about and allows me to meet an immediate need while also creating an opportunity to connect with them.\r\n\r\nYour donation of regulation objects is equally meaningful. Students sometimes need a safe and appropriate way to calm their bodies and minds before they can talk about what they are experiencing. Regulation tools can help students manage stress, anxiety, frustration, restlessness, and overwhelming emotions. These tools provide students with practical strategies that they can use when they are having a difficult moment. Rather than simply telling a student to \"calm down,\" I can teach them how to recognize what their body is telling them and give them tools that help them return to a state where they are ready to learn and problem-solve.\r\n\r\nOne of the most important parts of my job is helping students understand that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. When students visit the counseling office, I want them to feel welcomed, safe, and supported. Your generosity helps me create an environment where students know that their needs matter.\r\n\r\nYour donation also sends an important message to our students: there are people in their community who believe in them. Many students may never know the names of the individuals who made these resources possible, but they will experience the kindness behind your generosity. Every snack offered, every regulation tool used, and every conversation that happens in a safe and supportive environment is a reminder to students that they are valued.\r\n\r\nI am especially grateful because your contribution supports the whole student, not just academics. Academic success is important, but students cannot always focus on grades and assignments when they are struggling emotionally or physically. By helping provide basic needs and regulation resources, you are helping create the foundation students need to be successful in the classroom and beyond.\r\n\r\nI hope you know that your generosity will have an impact far beyond the items themselves. These resources will be used again and again by students who need a little extra support during their school day. Your donation may help a student get through a difficult morning, calm down after a stressful situation, regain focus before returning to class, or simply feel cared for when they need it most.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for supporting the work that happens in our counseling office. Your kindness makes it possible for me to provide resources that I may not otherwise be able to offer. Most importantly, you are helping me remind my students that their emotional well-being matters and that they deserve support as they learn, grow, and discover who they are.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of myself and all of the students who will benefit from your generosity, thank you. Your support truly makes a difference, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to use your donation to make our school a more caring, supportive, and welcoming place for every student.\r\n\r\nWith sincere gratitude,\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting our students!","fullyFundedDate":1788629439560,"projectUrl":"project/regulating-the-kids/10581603/","projectTitle":"Regulating the Kids","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Robertson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4887288_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1508113859908","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4887288"},{"teacherId":323481,"projectId":10213027,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our Legos for the Library project! Your generosity is helping us take math beyond the textbook and show students that the skills they learn in class can be used to investigate and solve real-world problems.\r\n\r\nOne of the ways we are using our new Donors Choose materials is through a Crime Scene Investigation Math Project. During this activity, students become math detectives and use their knowledge of area and perimeter to examine clues, take measurements, make calculations, and solve a fictional classroom mystery.\r\n\r\nStudents work collaboratively as members of an investigative team. Instead of simply being given a worksheet and asked to calculate area and perimeter, they are presented with a problem that requires them to decide what information they need, which mathematical strategy to use, and how their calculations can help them interpret the evidence. This gives students an opportunity to see mathematics as a tool for problem-solving rather than just a collection of formulas.\r\n\r\nThe students were especially excited when they saw that our new materials would be used for a crime scene investigation. The idea of becoming investigators immediately captured their attention. Students who may sometimes be hesitant to participate in a traditional math lesson were eager to measure, calculate, discuss clues, and defend their reasoning with their teammates.\r\n\r\nThis project also helps students develop skills that extend beyond mathematics. They practice critical thinking, communication, collaboration, attention to detail, and perseverance. Most importantly, students are learning that a strong mathematical argument needs evidence. Just like investigators, they must be able to explain not only what they think the answer is, but also how the mathematics supports their conclusion.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue investigating mathematics through real-world applications. Students will build upon their understanding of area and perimeter as we move into more complex concepts involving composite figures, surface area, and volume. They will continue using hands-on materials, models, measurements, and collaborative investigations to make connections between classroom mathematics and the world around them.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has helped make it possible for my students to experience math, investigate math, and apply math rather than simply read about it. These are the types of experiences that can help students see themselves as mathematicians, problem-solvers, and investigators.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our classroom and for helping us bring real-world mathematics to life!","fullyFundedDate":1778090441427,"projectUrl":"project/csi-math-its-elementary/10038645/","projectTitle":"CSI Math: It’s Elementary!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Minale","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5678841_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1534109619665","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msminale"},{"teacherId":10413126,"projectId":10060849,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity in fully funding our classroom project. Rather than remaining in one location for extended periods, students can engage in purposeful movement that supports both academic learning and overall well-being. This flexibility has contributed to improved participation, increased confidence when working with peers, and a classroom atmosphere where students are eager to contribute and remain engaged.\r\nYour generosity has made a lasting difference in the educational experience of our students.
