They have allowed us to keep cold drinks available for students who may come to PE without water, so they can stay hydrated and comfortable while participating in activities. These resources have given me additional tools and strategies to support students who struggle with managing their emotions or need extra assistance throughout the school day. Instead of having to rely on only verbal reminders or redirection, I can provide students with calming tools, visual supports, sensory materials, breathing activities, and other resources that meet their individual needs. This has helped me respond to challenging situations in a more proactive and supportive way.\r\nThe SEL materials have also helped me spend more time teaching and less time responding to behaviors that can interrupt learning. I am able to teach students how to recognize their emotions, choose an appropriate strategy, take a break when needed, and return to learning when they are ready. Over time, I have seen students become more familiar with these strategies and begin using them with greater independence. This allows me to better support the needs of individual students while continuing to maintain a positive and productive learning environment for the entire class.\r\nOverall, having these SEL resources available has made me feel better equipped to support the wide range of social and emotional needs that students bring into the classroom each day. They have provided me with practical ways to help students work through difficult moments while building skills they can use in the future. It has also allowed our PE teachers to provide a greater variety of activities that keep students moving while developing coordination, balance, endurance, and other important physical skills.\r\nThe soccer equipment has also supported skills that go far beyond physical fitness. Through soccer activities, students have opportunities to practice teamwork, communication, cooperation, and good sportsmanship.
