The rhythm sticks were also a creative tool in learning about musical instruments. \r\nThe pencils and markers allowed our students to become musical composers. They learned how to write rhythm notes, and other musical symbols. \r\nThe students loved using the markers to practice on the staff board, becoming experts at the placement of notes on the staff. Each student created their own original composition. Some of these were chosen for the class to play and create a story to act out. \r\n The percussion instruments were an amazing asset to our classroom ensemble. Your donation is having a big impact on my students. We have played some of the games, and will learn the others by the end of the semester. \r\n\r\nAdsumudi is a fun way to practice math facts. I have seen improvement in mental math skills, and how my students explain their mathematical thinking. Mouse Trap takes a while to set up but once we have it up and running, the kids have a good time capturing each other with the chain-reaction they set in motion. I think their favorite game is Clue. Using deductive thinking, they are getting really good at determining who committed the crime, with what weapon, and in which room. Rubik's Cube is definitely a challenge but my students are facing it head on. Some are close to learning all of the algorithms they need to solve the Cube. We use the timers to track their progress.
