Today's generation of students live in a technologically inclined world. It is natural that technology has become a vital part of the classroom. Our class does its best to incorporate up to date strategies for our precocious learners. Many of my students face hardships associated with low-socioeconomic status.
Our classroom is the only time they can be accountable for their learning, where they can explain their learning with others and have fun while doing it.
Often they do not have access to resources such as activities and/or computers that allow them an interactive, engaging experience. Every day during centers and independent work time, students will engage in various reading, math and/or enrichment activities. These activities will elevate their learning - meaning they're going above and beyond the daily work! They'll use these Chromebooks for Accelerated Readers so they can assess their reading skills on books they read. They'll use the program I-Ready to strengthen their growing practical skills. Most importantly, they'll be able to use the Lexia and Reading A-Z program in order to visualize how much academic growth they've made throughout the year! Students will have the opportunity to share their learning with others, be engaged in the interactive activities, and be proud of their academic achievements!
My kids will use the Chromebooks every day in order to elevate their knowledge. They can test their reading skills on books they've read, enhance their math skills through interactive games, and monitor their academic growth. They'll proudly take ownership of their learning!
