The Scholastic Access you helped provide will open up so many opportunities for learning, imagination, and growth.\r\n\r\nIn our reading lessons, we've focus on skills like identifying the main idea, making inferences, and understanding character development. These give students a chance to see those skills come alive through engaging stories and diverse voices. For example, we've been using our stories to practice making connections between what we read and our own experiences — something that really helps deepen comprehension and build empathy.\r\n\r\nYour donation has done so much more than just adding resource to our classroom — it's inspires curiosity, confidence, and a deeper love of reading. First, students began to realize the importance of basic math facts and how these facts are embedded in nearly every math skill. The students realized they could figure out questions without the need for a calculator or an app. When the students started to believe they could put the device away I was confident they would succeed. The students reacted with excitement as we opened our materials and everything was new. There is something about new supplies that add some needed motivation to usually dull curriculum. My next steps are to continue to inspire students to use their brains over a device that requires batteries. There was some growth but still a long way to go and I'm confident we can get there.","fullyFundedDate":1633187321739,"projectUrl":"project/back-to-the-basic-math-skills-no-comput/5869771/","projectTitle":"Back to the basic math skills, no computers needed!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Brad Daughtry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6406088_orig.jpg?crop=652,652,x2078,y435&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1556571404178","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6406088"},{"teacherId":9363246,"projectId":8324072,"letterContent":"The support and generosity of our donors have truly transformed our 7th Grade Math classroom, especially through the addition of new materials for our mini whiteboard review activities. Every Thursday, our students eagerly anticipate the chance to showcase their understanding of math concepts using the whiteboards, which you made possible. The whiteboards, markers, and erasers have created a dynamic, engaging environment where students actively participate, share their thought processes, and learn collaboratively. These materials have turned what could be a routine review session into an exciting and interactive learning experience. Adding prizes for these review sessions has elevated the stakes, motivating students to put in extra effort while fostering a fun, competitive spirit.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials and prizes, their excitement was palpable. Many of them expressed how thrilled they were to work with fresh, clean whiteboards, and even the act of writing with brand-new markers added to their enthusiasm. The prizes, ranging from small tokens to tangible rewards, created a buzz in the room, and the students couldn't wait to jump into the activities. Their reactions have been heartwarming, as they not only appreciate the materials but also demonstrate a stronger commitment to learning. Students who were once hesitant to participate have started stepping up, eager to contribute and earn recognition through these activities. This shift in engagement has been remarkable and has reinforced the value of your contributions to their educational journey.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I've taken steps to further enhance our review activities by incorporating more technology into our classroom. Using their laptops, students are now engaging with interactive review games in small groups, which blend the excitement of digital tools with collaborative learning. These games allow for personalized feedback, instant results, and an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of the material in a more modern and relevant way. By combining the hands-on approach of whiteboard reviews with the versatility of technology, I'm ensuring that our students remain engaged and have access to diverse methods of learning. Your generous support has been instrumental in building this foundation, and I'm excited to see how these next steps will continue to empower our students in their academic journey.","fullyFundedDate":1714333818953,"projectUrl":"project/make-math-magical/8324072/","projectTitle":"Make Math Magical","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Gaynor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9363246"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_67078","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":912,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":24,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":50,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":55.4,"schoolId":67078,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Irwin & Susan Molasky Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Irwin & Susan Molasky Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/clark-county-school-district/irwin-susan-molasky-junior-high-school/67078"}
