This allows them to read over their reflections that are journaled throughout the school year. \r\n\r\nThe Calculators are such an asset for my Resource Room Math students. Learning to utilize tools within their environment helps aid my special education students with math computation. This way, they can focus on the math concepts, or steps within the word problem and not dedicate so much time and brain space for the math computation part. This has been so beneficial to have for students to use to double check their answers as well. \r\n\r\nThe Calming Bubble sensory fidget toys have been such a great addition to my Calming Corner in my classroom. The Ghost collection of books was an immediate success—students were fully engaged and genuinely excited to read the novel together. As a class, we explored key literary elements such as plot development, author's purpose, and character conflict. Students were especially drawn to the resolution of the main character's journey, and many were able to make strong personal connections to the story, which deepened their understanding and participation.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also been an invaluable resource, particularly for my English language learners. They have used them to record presentations and create podcasts, giving them more confidence in practicing their speaking and listening skills. This technology has helped create a more inclusive classroom environment where all students can express themselves and build language proficiency in a supportive way.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the refrigerator has provided a simple but essential benefit by allowing us to store water for students throughout the day. Having access to cold water has supported student well-being and focus, ensuring they are comfortable and ready to learn. Altogether, these resources have enriched our classroom environment and supported both the academic growth and daily needs of my students.","fullyFundedDate":1770062466551,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-focus-headphones-books-and-wa/10008795/","projectTitle":"Fueling Focus: Headphones, Books, and Water for Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pisia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9350468"},{"teacherId":10400080,"projectId":10034896,"letterContent":"The donations received to my classroom were wonderful! Next, the items for my gardening class have been helpful as it is getting warmer outside and they like indoor projects. They enjoy doing something different. \r\n\r\nThe biggest impact though were the snacks and juices that I was able to get. A lot of these students depend on the free breakfast and lunch we offer. To be able to give them a snack they enjoy after school when they stay for tutoring is something they look forward to. Also, when I hear a student's stomach in class it is nice to be able to offer something to them. \r\n\r\nThese may seem like small things, but these small impacts make their day better. One memorable moment was watching students step into character more confidently once they had the materials in hand—their performances instantly became more expressive and engaging.\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped make our theater project feel real and meaningful for the students. They are now more motivated and invested in practicing their lines, working together on stage directions, and helping with small production tasks. When they first saw the materials, many students cheered and could not stop smiling because they felt like \"real actors.\" Our next steps include continuing rehearsals, refining scenes, and practicing how to use the props and their own costumes smoothly during the performance. We are also focusing on teamwork, stage presence, and confidence as we prepare for the final production. We were also to utilize some of the resources as reinforcers for our students. \r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions ranged from wide-eyed excitement to immediate curiosity. Several asked, \"Are these really for us?\" That sense of ownership made a huge difference. They were eager to try everything and even reminded me when it was time to use the new tools during lessons.\r\n\r\nStudents will continue building independent writing skills by completing resumes and practicing workplace communication scenarios. We're also incorporating role-play activities where students rotate through interview stations and receive peer feedback.
