In alignment with ELA R.L. 7.10, my students need to have access to engaging literature. The class set of The Hunger Games will provide this. My students need to read a novel that they connect with that shows the power of perseverance and advocacy in a welcoming environment. The light covers will reduce the eyestrain that many students have been experiencing since transitioning back to in-person learning. The lamps will create a warm setting for the classroom. Since students cannot just "mute" and "unmute" in real life, they have a hard time determining when they should be listening intently and when they should be collaborating with their peers. With a lecturn in the classroom, there will be a visual queue to tell them when they should be listening quietly.
