The animal pets are a reward for students when they complete assignments. They love playing with the animal pets! Finally, I have added the key chain pop its to my prize box. Studens love wearing these on their backpacks. Students write on white boards with the markers as another way to show their thinking in all subject areas (Math, Reading etc.).\r\nThe manila folders help me to stay organized. I created a folder for each student and I keep important documents in them. I also keep my conference notes with families in them. The Sharpie markers are used to make anchor charts to teach lessons in all subject areas. Finally, the Expo Whiteboard Cleaner is helpful with cleaning the boards in our classroom. It is the beginning of a new school year. The ink is already being put to good use. I selected a few photos to show case this. I created a mystery reader sign up form that parents signed up for at Know Your school night. Next, I included two photos of math lessons. The first one is a vocabulary graphic organizer. Students picked two cards and represented the number by writing the expanded form, word name, standard form and drew a model for each number. The second form was an exit slip where students demonstrated their knowledge by solving a word problem. Finally, the last picture is of a heart, students wrote kind words about each other. Students were excited to flip through the book, share activities and ideas that caught their attention, and talk with their classmates about hobbies and interests they would like to try.\r\n\r\nMore importantly, this project allowed us to send our students into their next chapter with something meaningful in their hands. As they move on from sixth grade, we hope they continue returning to the book for new ideas and inspiration.
