According to Malcolm X, "Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today." My students represent an ethnically and socio-economically diverse population demonstrating a wide range of cognitive abilities, learning styles, and achievement levels. Our goals include improving school attendance, increasing academic achievement in math and reading, increasing appropriate behaviors, and reintegrating students into less restrictive settings. My students have had many negative school experiences and it is my goal to provide a classroom environment that helps them to realize their potential through engaging learning opportunities.
