The students have been loving our new resources. Every morning, we use our rug for morning meeting and to set the tone for the day. The student's love to use the new cushions to sit on during this time, so they can be comfy while they sit on the rug for long periods. We have also been using both the rug and cushions during our Literacy time. There many points thought out our literacy lessons where students are asked to find a partner and discuss a prompt sitting next to them. \r\n\r\nThe rug has been super beneficial to our learning. Because of the design of the rug, it is easy for students to find a seat on a specific square on the edge of the rug. This makes morning meeting and instruction accessible to my special education students. Some of those series are consistent throughout the years, others come and go. These series are so well-loved that the books are often returned in a rough state. With your donation, I was able to replace many of our beloved books. \r\n\r\nMany of these series were missing several books. For avid readers, it was hard to know we didn't have the missing pieces. We were able to replace complete sets so avid readers could get the full storyline. \r\n\r\nThe excitement circulating with the addition of these books was visible. Certain classes would come in and check out the entire series of books. In the next class, they would immediately come in and tell me that this person wanted that person's book and so on. With a little book switcheroo, the entire series was checked out from the library again. \r\n\r\nIn a library, there is something so special about watching a student read through a complete series of books.
