I was working as a building substitute at Harding Middle School and suddenly there was an opening in a special education room. Then, well, the rest is history. \r\n\r\nThe room I teach in is a mild/moderate intellectual disabilities room. Coming from the general education world, this was very different for me. There are days when we throw out the lesson plans, because we're overstimulated or our emotions prevent us from moving forward with content. So having a place where my students can reset to emotionally regulate is vital--you helped us set that up with comfortable chairs and a cozy rug. Sometimes we have trouble concentrating throughout the day because lunchtime is a ways away and our stomachs are rumbling, and the snacks you provided will help with that too. Everything you helped to supply in my room will be utilized in the best way.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for caring about my students.
