Having an individual mouse creates easier accessibility to my student's devices. Participating in the general education curriculum, in all school subjects, requires students to use word processing often. My students have individual devices they use all day for reading, word processing and research. Attempting to use only the touch pad on laptop computers becomes frustrating for many students who have difficulty with eye-hand coordination, or need more time for processing new information. At times my students have trouble keeping up with the pace of the general education classes. Using a mouse will aid them in more success in the general education settings. Navigating with a mouse is much easier for students with special needs.
