With diverse learners in every classroom, it is essential that each student receives instruction tailored to their individual needs. IXL makes this possible.\r\n\r\nHow We Use IXL:\r\nOur fourth-grade team integrates IXL throughout the school day to reinforce and extend student learning. Students engage with the program during ELA centers, where they rotate through targeted skill practice aligned to our current curriculum. At home, IXL is assigned as differentiated homework, allowing families to see firsthand the specific skills their children are practicing. During class, we use IXL for real-time skill checks, independent practice, and small-group reinforcement. In addition, IXL's instructional videos help break down complex reading concepts—such as main idea, text structure, inference, and context clues—into clear, accessible lessons that support both on-level and struggling readers.\r\n\r\nWhy IXL Matters:\r\nIXL continuously adjusts to each learner's skill level, ensuring that students are practicing exactly what they need—no more, no less. For some students, this means building foundational reading comprehension skills, while others are challenged with advanced text analysis. This level of differentiation would be impossible to achieve without a tool as robust and responsive as IXL.\r\n\r\nThe Impact on Our Students:\r\nWith nearly 70 students using IXL consistently, we have seen:\r\n\r\nIncreased confidence in reading and writing\r\n\r\nStronger mastery of grade-level standards\r\n\r\nMeaningful growth for students receiving interventions\r\n\r\nEnrichment opportunities for students performing above grade level\r\n\r\nImproved test readiness through targeted practice\r\n\r\nHigher engagement, especially during independent center work\r\n\r\nIXL has become a vital component of our literacy instruction. It ensures that every student—regardless of background, ability, or learning style—receives personalized practice that moves their learning forward. Your support helps us maintain access to this powerful tool and continue providing high-quality, individualized education to all of our fourth graders.\r\n\r\nMy students especially love the Leaderboard every week, where we have a friendly competition. If they are in the top 3, they receive tickets to our classroom store! Students love meeting with me to review how much they have grown on IXL. I even made these little bracelets that say \"Mrs. G is Proud of Me\". \r\n\r\nThank you for supporting our students and helping us create authentic, differentiated learning opportunities that truly make a difference.","fullyFundedDate":1758812456824,"projectUrl":"project/learning-with-a-twist/9413105/","projectTitle":"Learning with a Twist!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Grieger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7072952"},{"teacherId":2129977,"projectId":9423303,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our project A Quieter, Cozier Classroom for Our Deaf Preschoolers.
