Lastly our youngest students learned about the importance of Laulima and decorated their individual kites (hoʻolupe) and flew thei kites during our event. \r\nThis event, which spanned the entire day helps students and teachers to get outside, support each other and encourage friendly competition. Students in the upper grades used their skills to compete against each other in three events. The events highlights three school winners in each event. \r\nStudents in lower grades are looking forward to using their skills when they are older to also compete. As a special treat, Kindergarten and Grade 1 were able to make kites they took home.
