This year, I am team teaching with the 5th Grade teachers. We are using a Project Based Learning (PBL) curriculum for all subjects and this is quite a challenge! I am asking for a Jamboard with a stand so that I have the ability to access the work that my colleagues have worked on with our students during Language Arts or Science, as we are all working on the same project, just in different areas. The Jamboard also would allow me to move between the tables in my classroom, which at the moment, are spread out due to the pandemic. Jamboards are versatile and would empower me to teach all students on an individual basis. Considering the many different levels of students we have here at our school, and within one classroom alone, a Jamboard would permit anyone to retrieve information that would help with differentiation. On the days that I am not working on the PBL, I teach using worksheets, playing games or doing activities. With a Jamboard, I would be able to display the worksheets and write directly on them. I would also be able to draw with a stylus or pull in images and videos from a google search. This can be very useful as some students learn better with seeing more than just words and numbers. Alongside being a visual and auditory tool, a Jamboard would also permit students to do work directly on the board appeasing those with a preference to kinesthetic learning styles.
