My students were thrilled to see the many items we got for our classroom and they were eager to put them to use! They specifically love the colored rolling cart and how it holds extra supplies they may need through the day. Some of the had difficulty getting school supplies and while I tried my best to distribute what I had when they needed it, now they can go to the cart and easily grab what they need! \r\nThey also enjoyed playing with the games and activities that we got! Indoor recess has now become a treat to many of them as they all get excited to play jenga or build with the blocks or play Break the Ice. Especially as we have seen more rain here in Hawaii, these additional games have helped them enjoy their recess time.\r\nOn top of that, students have really been grateful for the snacks. Some come to school hungry and have difficulty focusing. At times a sore stomach makes it hard to do work. The various snack options has helped to alleviate much of that so they can focus on their work. They love how they can get a quick snack and they can get back to their work.\r\nThis is only a small part of which we feel for your generous donations. Students earn rewards for showing responsibility, staying focused, helping others, and giving their best effort. One special moment was during a challenging lesson when several students stayed on task and encouraged one another—earning the chance to select a reward afterward. Their pride and excitement were just as meaningful as the reward itself.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were thrilled. Their faces lit up, and many immediately began talking about goals they wanted to work toward. The incentives created an instant sense of motivation and helped set a positive tone in the classroom. Even students who sometimes struggle with engagement became more focused and eager to participate.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue working toward personal and academic goals using these incentives as encouragement. We are reinforcing positive behaviors, perseverance, and teamwork as we move forward with our current lessons and projects. The iPad has given students access to interactive lessons, educational apps, and digital tools that support different learning styles. Dry erase boards allow students to show their thinking quickly during lessons, making it easier for me to check understanding and provide support right away.\r\n\r\nStudents are especially excited about how hands-on and motivating the new materials are. Mini trophies have been a huge hit, encouraging positive behavior, effort, and academic growth. The Nex Playground has revolutionized our approach to movement breaks; short, structured sessions using games like Go Keeper and Fruit Ninja immediately enhanced student focus and kinesthetic learning, confirming the link between physical activity and improved cognitive function. Its controller-free design ensures inclusivity and promotes spatial reasoning. Simultaneously, the board and card games (such as Uno and Chess) have provided essential, low-stakes opportunities for practicing critical SEL competencies, including turn-taking, strategic thinking, and self-regulation when managing frustration.
