These materials would be our classroom's resilient recovery set-up after Harvey storm which destroyed two-week's worth of teacher preparation. The engaging hands-on phonics, phonemic awareness and number recognition activities would give a powerful statement to my students that learning remains priority and of greater value even after the devastating natural disaster. The delay in the start of our school year only translates in preparation of the best materials and the safest learning environment for them. All the materials proposed in this project will help my students start off our semester 1 in reinforcing/introducing early literacy and numeracy skills which are critical for kindergarten students to learn and acquire for building the foundation of learning.
