Our Keiki, (children), are very appreciative and eager to learn here in Hawaii. They come to school with minimum supplies they can barely afford, some with none, but ready to learn. Many of my students do not have a computer or electronic device at home and most do not have access to the Internet outside of school. School is a place where students are fostered with knowledge and skills that will help them become successful adults who will be able to contribute to society. Without access to tools, it's been very challenging for my students to complete their projects or even daily assignments. Students come before school, give up their recess, and stay after school to get work done. They've also become very resourceful by going out into the community and using the free Wifi at our nearby McDonald's and Starbucks locations. They have learned to adapt and do their best with the few resources we have.
