The parents also thank you because they were just as concerned as I was.\r\n\r\nThere were enough materials to make two sets of badges and to replace as needed. The first set of badges are transportation. They contain the information students need to get home. This has helped immensely as there has also been a shortage of bus drivers. This has caused many buses to \"double-up\" on their routes. The transportation badge let's the driver know where to correctly and safely drop off the students. \r\n\r\nThe second set of badges are the school badges. This has the students' information and QR code for lunch, PBIS, and other school related information. This has come in handy when a student leaving the restroom gets disoriented in the hallway and I can glance at the badge and guide him/her to the correct homeroom. This is just one quick example of how these badges has played a huge role this school year. Many of our student's families are not financially able to purchase good headphones for their child. Your donation gives every student a high-quality pair of headphones. Additionally, very few students have headphones with a microphone. New assessments and assigned tasks are beginning to require students to speak. The new headphones have durable microphones students can use during these assessments and tasks. \r\n\r\nStudents are thrilled to have a quality headphone that helps them hear the directions for the tasks and assessments they are completing. Many times in the past, they would have a difficult time understanding the directions due to inadequate headphones. They would become frustrated when they could not hear the directions. It is hard enough for our English Language Learners to hear clear directions and translate it in order to complete the assigned task. The headphones you donated remove the difficulty of hearing the directions so they can spend their energy translating and completing the tasks assigned. I wish you could see the smiles on their faces when I pull out the headphones for them to use! We are embedding it within number stories, writing the equation both vertically and horizontally, and using it cross curricular as well. \r\n\r\nMy students enjoy using their play dough and new markers to help visualize these tasks. \r\n\r\nWe even began to implement a number writing 1-100 warm up fluency as well.
