These games and puzzles are used in a variety of classes, from critical thinking to speech, from law to anatomy. \r\n\r\nStudents today are so focused on their phones and computers, even during the school day, that they often forget what it's like to have real human interaction. They forget how to think critically, but using these games and puzzles allows me to bring that skill into my classroom. One of my favorite activities is giving each group a puzzle but telling them they aren't allowed to speak. Before receiving this technology, our students had to work with limited equipment, which made it difficult to produce clear audio and professional-looking broadcasts. The new microphones allow our student anchors to speak clearly and confidently, while the lighting equipment provides consistent, professional-quality lighting that makes our broadcasts look more polished and engaging.\r\n\r\nMore importantly, this technology has transformed the way our students learn and apply real-world media production skills. Students are now gaining hands-on experience with microphone placement, audio levels, lighting techniques, camera positioning, on-camera performance, production teamwork, and troubleshooting. These are skills they can carry with them into college, technical programs, and careers in broadcasting, journalism, communications, digital media, and entertainment.\r\n\r\nThe improved equipment has also increased student confidence and engagement. Students take greater pride in seeing their work presented in a professional format, and more students are interested in becoming anchors, camera operators, audio technicians, directors, and editors. The morning announcements have become more than just a way to share school information—they have become a real-world learning laboratory where students create content for an authentic audience every school day.\r\n\r\nThe impact extends beyond the TV Production classroom. Our morning announcements help connect the entire South Dade community by highlighting school events, student organizations, athletics, activities, achievements, and important information. With improved sound and lighting, our message is clearer, more accessible, and more engaging for students and staff.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your support is giving our students access to technology that helps them create rather than simply consume media. They are learning how professional productions work while developing communication, collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills.\r\n\r\nBecause of our Donors Choose supporters, our students aren't just watching the morning announcements—they are producing them. Your generosity has had an incredible impact on our Engineering and Robotics students at South Dade Senior High School.\r\nThe two high-powered computers you provided have transformed the way our students learn engineering design. Before receiving these workstations, many of our students had to wait their turn to use computers capable of running our professional CAD software. Now, they can design complex robot components, create detailed assemblies, test ideas, and make improvements much more efficiently. These are the same industry-standard tools used by engineers and manufacturers, giving our students valuable real-world experience that prepares them for college and future careers.\r\nThe students have been especially excited by how quickly the new computers handle large 3D models. They can rotate assemblies smoothly, make design changes instantly, and spend more time creating instead of waiting for software to load. This has encouraged them to experiment with new ideas, collaborate with teammates, and develop more advanced robot designs than ever before.\r\nSeveral students have truly flourished with this new technology. Students who were once hesitant to learn CAD have become confident designers because they can now work without frustrating delays. Our veteran robotics members are creating increasingly sophisticated mechanisms, while newer students are gaining hands-on experience that will help them become future leaders of our program. Watching students mentor one another and celebrate their successful designs has been one of the most rewarding outcomes of your support.\r\nBecause of your kindness, our students are not only building better robots, they are building confidence, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and a passion for engineering. Having a reliable source of color ink has fundamentally changed our workflow. For example, when students design complex 3D models or engineering diagrams, seeing those designs printed in color allows them to clearly distinguish between different components, such as electrical wiring versus structural supports.
