My students have absolutely loved our new supplies. They are so excited to get a seat around the room where they can comfortably work.\r\n\r\nStudents had the biggest smile in my room when I showed them all our seating options. They know that they have to work hard in order to make a seating choice. This has truly motivated my students to work above and beyond to be a \"chosen one.\"\r\n\r\nEach day, students are chosen to find a comfy seat from the items you donated. They get to work at that seat while in math. Students know they need to keep working hard to stay in their new space. It has truly made simple tasks more exciting because they feel special for getting to sit in an alternative seat. For many, it also gives them that movement they need to help keep them on track.","fullyFundedDate":1757855841580,"projectUrl":"project/learning-around-the-room/9667787/","projectTitle":"Learning Around the Room","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sempero","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp868687_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y160&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1619801475337","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/868687"},{"teacherId":9272744,"projectId":8534433,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous support through DonorsChoose. The resources you provided had an incredible impact on our Black History Council event and truly enhanced the learning experience for my students.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable activities was the bracelet-making project, where students designed custom pieces using vibrant beads and charms. Each bracelet symbolized an important aspect of African-American culture and history, allowing students to creatively express what they had learned. This hands-on activity helped them connect personally with the history they were studying, and it sparked a sense of pride and ownership in their work.\r\n\r\nAnother highlight was the wax museum, where students portrayed influential African-American figures like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., and Maya Angelou. Dressed in character, they stood still like statues and shared facts about their historical figures with visitors. This immersive project deepened their understanding of these iconic figures while helping them build valuable skills in research, public speaking, and storytelling.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials you helped fund, their excitement was palpable. The bracelet-making supplies inspired immediate creativity, and the costumes for the wax museum projects sparked a sense of pride and enthusiasm. The resources you provided not only made these activities possible but also fostered a love of learning and a deeper connection to African-American history.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students are now reflecting on the figures they portrayed and continuing to explore how their contributions shape the world today. The experiences they gained through these projects will stay with them long after the event, and your support has truly made a lasting difference in their education.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for your kindness and generosity. You have made a meaningful impact on my students' lives, and we are deeply grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1729204398297,"projectUrl":"project/black-history-celebration-a-culinary-a/8534433/","projectTitle":"Black History Celebration: A Culinary and Cultural Voyage","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blackman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9272744_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1695391637797","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9272744"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46375","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":375,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":59,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":28,"percentWhite":33,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.6,"schoolId":46375,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Seminole Heights Elem School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Seminole Heights Elem School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/hillsborough-county-public-school-district/seminole-elementary-school/46375"}
