My students are from an urban neighborhood in a Title I area. They are bright, eager learners that want to absorb all science topics. The lack of knowledge for various science topics is due to a lack of experience. I want to give them hands-on experiences with innovative methods. My students love performing investigations where they can manipulate variables. They want an opportunity to learn new things that are useful in their lives. Learning about hydroponics in the classroom will help my students understand the techniques being utilized in neighboring communities that are growing strawberries through this method.
