I tweaked the project so that it would work with our unit on solving and graphing inequalities. The kids had a budget and then \"bought\" supplies like chipboard, string, and popsicle sticks that they used to design and build a bridge. They studied different types of bridges and worked to stay under budget. They then had to write the inequality that represented their budget and graph it on paper. They also had to reflect on how their equation, graph, and bridge would change if their budget was increased or reduced. The students had a lot of fun and were able to connect the concepts they'd learned to a real life, concrete example. I could not have done it without your generous donations! I plan to use this modified activity again next year!","fullyFundedDate":1760114035087,"projectUrl":"project/stem-optimization-through-bridge-buildi/9790149/","projectTitle":"STEM: Optimization through Bridge Building","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. D","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8914885_orig.jpg?crop=282,282,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753292862242","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8914885"},{"teacherId":4334451,"projectId":9595016,"letterContent":"Oh my goodness a million times than you for making this project happen!!!!\r\nMy students where so excited when they saw the delivery box knowing it was our new classroom speaker. \r\nWe have used it to listen to our class book for English class and during independent work time we also play calming music that helps students relax and stay focused.
