Their reactions were filled with curiosity and joy — they immediately began exploring the textures, colors, and movement of each item. For many of my students, especially those with sensory sensitivities and emotional regulation challenges, these materials have made a huge difference in how they experience the classroom.\r\n\r\nNow, when a child is feeling overwhelmed, they can calmly choose a soft textured pillow or take a quiet moment in our sensory space. The wobbly chair and cushions have helped students who struggle to sit still find comfort and balance during group time and table work. One of my students who typically avoids group activities now independently grabs a sensory tool and joins us — a small moment that represents big progress.\r\n\r\nThese items have helped me create a supportive classroom environment where students can practice self-regulation, build focus, and meet their IEP goals in a way that feels safe and empowering.
