While we've been in quarantine and having distance learning, my students have borrowed laptop computers from our school district to learn. I, myself, have one district-owned computer to teach my students. An extra device will allow me to navigate between lesson planning, student engagement and student participation. I will be able to see students as they follow along during a science lesson on friction and gravity, a PE lesson, and during read alouds. When we return to class, students will be able to record themselves during their lessons and share them with absent or visiting students. iPads will greatly enhance my ability to access all of my students during at home learning. Last year my classroom was broken into. Five iPads were stolen along with many other school and personal equipment. With budget cuts, my school has been unable to secure funds to replace them. When we return to class, these iPads will continue to become part of our reading, writing and math centers. (I will write projects to replace the iPads as well as our class library that was vandalized.) Thank you in advance for donating to my students' future.
