I became a teacher to create a safe place for children. Sadly for many children, school is the only place where they feel safe. I continually am working on creating a warm environment for students to work collaboratively on their math and science tasks. It is not a rare thing for a student to volunteer, make a mistake, and then there are suddenly 4 other students rallying around that student and helping them through their mistake. My goal for my classroom is to create a warm and inviting place where all my students can feel safe and know they are loved. My students feel welcomed by myself and by the other students, now my goal is to make the classroom itself a place that reflects that warm and inviting feeling with this rug and bean bag chairs. These students come from many different home situations and I want all of them to feel that my classroom is a second home for ALL of them. No matter what needs they may have.
