We had an opportunity to invite special community members to see and hear from students directly. Many students were able to create research projects focusing on immigration, access to voting rights and prison reform. Many students were able to share how proud completing the project made them feel and others were able to provide thoughtful reflections for younger generations of students that can to visit the presentations. \r\n\r\nOverall your direct donation has provided my students the opportunity to show their learning and community advocacy in meaningful ways that will add to their educational trajectory. Your donation also allowed me to support other teachers in the form of folders, ink, certificates and so much more. My students and I are about to start our end of the year project, there will be several moving parts to making sure they are as successful as possible. I feel more at ease knowing that my students have access to materials that they will need in the form of folders, pencils, and ink to print out relevant sources. The first thing that got used were the light covers, they have dramatically helped reduced headaches in class. Thank you for your donation. \r\n\r\nMy students were surprised to first see the light covers when they were put up. They grew accustomed to the light covers soon and I have noticed less students and adult headaches as a result of the lighting. My next project will include beginning of the year materials for my students. This is also the space where we keep non-perishable food like granola bars and fruit from the morning.
