Some students seek out the weighted animals or blanket when they are feeling frustrated, anxious, or overstimulated. Other students enjoy using the noise-canceling headphones when they need a quieter environment to focus on their work. It has been wonderful to see students begin to recognize what they need and choose a tool that helps them regulate.\r\n\r\nThe TPT gift card has also been incredibly valuable. It allowed me to purchase additional curriculum resources to supplement our existing curriculum and provide my students with lessons and activities that meet their individual learning needs. Having access to additional resources allows me to provide more opportunities for practice, differentiation, and hands-on learning.\r\n\r\nAll of these materials have been crucial in helping my students regulate their emotions and access the curriculum. Color printing was rarely an option. Now we can print right in the classroom, in color, the moment a student needs a new visual. That has made our supports immediate, consistent, and much easier for students to understand.\r\n\r\nWith the printer and ink, I have been able to print color icons, desk visual schedules, and a larger classroom schedule board that students check throughout the day. The color cues help them see what is happening now, what comes next, and when a transition is coming. I have also printed color sentence strips and manipulatives so students can build and match sentences with clear pictures, plus trim, art, and costume visuals we needed for classroom activities. Communication boards and day-to-day visuals are posted and used from arrival through dismissal.\r\n\r\nStudents with autism in our class are progressing well with these supports. The color schedules have made transitions smoother and have helped students move through the day with more independence and less frustration. When a schedule changes or a student needs a personal visual at their desk, we can print it on the spot instead of waiting or going without. Students are using the schedules, icons, and sentence supports more confidently, and the classroom feels calmer and more predictable.\r\n\r\nYour gift did more than provide supplies. Its vibrant colors outline the continents and oceans that we have been studying. This rug will serve multiple purposes. Not only will it be a comfortable area rug, but an easy reference to learn more about geography. The size was perfect for our library. It's so satisfying to see my students enjoy a book on a clean and cozy rug. The surprise did not stop with the rug. We also received a light weight, cordless vacuum. This is ideal to clean the rug nice and clean at the end of each day. Its compact size makes storage convenient. The illuminated globe mesmerized my students by fall. It has truly been a hit for all students. They were intrigued with the bright colors and clear letterings it projected. This globe has enhanced our astronomy unit and has give students a better understanding of countries around the world. What a perfect time to get it.
