I have highly motivated and intelligent students in my classroom. Even though our school is located in the inner-city and most students have seen and experienced things most people haven't, they are the type of students who overcome and adapt to their surroundings. We are located in the inner-city of Los Angeles and most students are effected by poverty. Very few students have access to computers or Internet at home and are forced to go to library to use the Internet for research. This can pose a problem because there is a 20 minute time limit at the local library. Because my students are concerned about their education, they get worried when an assignment requires them to research on the Internet. This problem forces me to limit the number of research projects I assign in my classroom. I would like to add at least two netbooks, so that the students could have accessibility to the Internet to research assignments or anything they are curious about.
