The children loved sitting together and listening to fun stories. They were able to learn early literacy skills such as holding the book correctly, turning pages, and pointing to the first word. They were able to track the words with their fingers, find known words, and many of them were able to read right along with the audio. They listened to sentence structure, high level vocabulary- I could go on and on! I love to hear them laughing and talking about the books together. \r\n\r\nThese book sets provide what seems like pure enjoyment but are also such an impactful exposure to text. Thank you for providing this opportunity for my students. You are setting them up for success in the next grade and in life. They are easy to code and manipulate using an iPad app. Students can check them out during our independent work time. They can create mazes and solve challenges, and then work through them using the robot. They work cooperatively in pairs and teach each other!\r\n My students love the ease of use and appreciate being in charge of their own learning. It is student-led versus teacher-led, so they can learn and persevere through challenges on their own or with their peers. Being a problem solver is an essential 21st-century learning skill. \r\n All of my students love the Sphero Mini. Even students with special needs can access and use the technology with very little assistance.
