My students come from inner city backgrounds. Single parent homes are common, as are students being raised by loving- but undereducated parents. Almost all of our students have free or reduced lunches (90%). The vast majority of our students eat both breakfast and lunch at school. The students who struggle the greatest are second language learners, which make up over 65% of our population. Those who struggle the most often come from all or most of those situations. Yet, they come to school everyday wanting so much to learn. Our school has a 97% attendance rate!
