These journals have become a valuable tool for helping students slow down, reflect, and express themselves in healthy ways. We use them for mindfulness prompts, gratitude reflections, emotional check-ins, and art journaling activities designed to strengthen self-awareness and emotional regulation. One of the most meaningful moments occurred when students were invited to decorate the covers of their journals with symbols, words, and images that represented their hopes, strengths, and personal values. The journals quickly became something they felt proud to own and use.\r\n\r\nWhen students first received the journals, their excitement was immediate. Many eagerly flipped through the blank pages, sharing ideas about what they wanted to create and write. Several students commented that having a journal that belonged solely to them made them feel respected and valued. For some students, drawing and creating visual art felt like an easier way to communicate emotions than speaking aloud. The journals have provided a safe space for students to process feelings, celebrate successes, and practice mindfulness strategies that support their overall well-being.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our mindfulness journey, students will be using their journals for ongoing social-emotional learning lessons focused on gratitude, resilience, self-compassion, and goal setting. They will also complete guided art activities that encourage creative expression while building coping skills and emotional awareness. Your generosity has provided much more than a journal—it has given students a meaningful outlet for reflection, creativity, and personal growth. Thank you for investing in the emotional health and success of our students. Your support is making a lasting difference in our classroom. ❤️","fullyFundedDate":1775354158983,"projectUrl":"project/mindfulness-journals-art-supplies/10039184/","projectTitle":"Mindfulness Journals & Art Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hill","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10401864_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768676417366","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10401864"},{"teacherId":10401864,"projectId":10008396,"letterContent":"The impact of these materials on the mental health of my students has been substantial. The students have engaged in art based activities focused on self-awareness, self-esteem, self- expression, self-regulation, and freedom to be creative. They are making progress within themselves and their relationships with others. Several students are now turning to art as a coping mechanism to help them relax, regulate, and reflect. They could hardly believe that all these supplies were just for them. We opened the boxes together, and they eagerly helped me organize the new colored pencils, dry-erase markers, and sheet protectors. One student said, \"Now our maps will actually look like the ones in the textbook!\" Another smiled proudly when I handed out the calculators, finally able to focus on solving problems without using his phone.\r\n\r\nIn World History, we've already started using the large-format paper to create enlarged maps and timelines. The colored pencils have made such a difference—students now work together to color regions, label civilizations, and make connections visually. For my students who need accommodations, the enlarged printouts and reusable protected pages have allowed them to access the same material as their peers with confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nIn Math, the calculators have been a game-changer. My push-in students now solve equations and geometry problems without the distractions of their cell phones. They're collaborating more, comparing answers, and taking pride in their work. These resources have truly made learning more inclusive, engaging, and joyful. Thank you for making it possible for my students to experience learning that's hands-on, visual, and full of heart.","fullyFundedDate":1762476867783,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-history-and-math-to-life-for-al/9711353/","projectTitle":"Bringing History and Math to Life for All Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Capupus","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp597185_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1744128955619","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/pcapupus"},{"teacherId":525410,"projectId":9300960,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my first and now 2nd year of teaching Fiber Arts and Textiles.
