I am a new teacher and I would like to teach The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas to my 9th grade English class. Our school library currently does not have the novels available. I believe this is high interest novel for students. My goal is for students to connect with the characters and story. The Hate U Give is story that my students can relate to as it is modern young adult novel. This will result in them being interest in the reading instead of having the reading forced on them. The goal is for students to find similar novel to read after reading The Hate U Give.
