The movable easel has become an important part of our small-group instruction, especially during guided reading, math intervention, and targeted practice. Students love having a dedicated space where we can work together and learn. The headphones have been especially helpful during technology-based learning because students can stay focused without distracting one another. The rolling storage cart has also helped us organize our classroom materials and learning centers, making it easier for students to independently find and put away what they need.\r\n My students were so excited when they first saw the new materials! They were especially excited about the colorful headphones and immediately wanted to know when they could use them. They also loved seeing the new rolling cart and learning that it would help us organize our classroom supplies. The movable easel quickly became a favorite because students were excited to see how easily it could move around our classroom. Their excitement reminded me how even simple classroom resources can make students feel excited and ready to learn.\r\n Our next steps are to continue using these resources to support small-group instruction and independent learning throughout the school year. We will continue using the movable easel for guided reading, math practice, and targeted instruction based on student needs. Students will also use their headphones during technology-based literacy and math activities. As we continue learning, I want my students to become more independent by choosing the materials they need, staying focused during independent work, and taking responsibility for keeping our classroom organized.","fullyFundedDate":1784291694548,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-tools-for-focused-learners/10297699/","projectTitle":"Classroom Tools for Focused Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chavez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10502680_orig.jpg?crop=1200,1200,x0,y600&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778184230881","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10502680"},{"teacherId":10502680,"projectId":10274747,"letterContent":"The new books provide opportunities to teach so many important first-grade skills! Students practice listening comprehension, identifying the main idea and key details, making predictions, retelling stories, identifying characters and setting, and learning new vocabulary. Many of the books also support social-emotional learning by introducing lessons about kindness, gratitude, perseverance, mistakes, self-control, and growth mindset. The bilingual English/Spanish texts also create opportunities to celebrate language and culture while helping students make connections between their own experiences and the stories they read.\r\n Reading in our classroom is more than simply reading words on a page. We read together during whole-group read-alouds, where students listen, make predictions, ask questions, discuss characters and events, and share their thinking. Students also participate in partner reading and independent reading, where they practice using their reading strategies and choosing books that interest them. Our family read-aloud days add another special part to our reading community by allowing parents, grandparents, and family members to come into our classroom and share stories with students.\r\n My students have been especially excited about the funny, interactive, and relatable stories in our new collection. They love books like the *There Was an Old Lady* series because they are silly and engaging, while books such as *The Bad Seed*, *The Good Egg*, and *The Cool Bean* give us opportunities to talk about feelings, kindness, and making positive choices. My bilingual students and their families have also been especially excited to see Spanish and English books in our classroom. It has been wonderful watching students light up when they recognize their home language in a book and proudly share it with their classmates.","fullyFundedDate":1783612541970,"projectUrl":"project/family-read-alouds-for-lifelong-readers/10274747/","projectTitle":"Family Read-Alouds for Lifelong Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chavez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10502680_orig.jpg?crop=1200,1200,x0,y600&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778184230881","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10502680"},{"teacherId":10502680,"projectId":10276544,"letterContent":"My students have been using the new resources every day! The individual crayon boxes have helped students keep their supplies organized and easily accessible, while the new storage drawers and labels have made our classroom materials much easier to find. We have also been using the building sets and Brain Flakes during STEM activities, where students work together to create, problem-solve, and explain their designs. It has been wonderful to see students become more independent with classroom routines while also having opportunities to be creative and explore new ideas.\r\n My students were so excited when they first saw all of the new materials! They were especially excited about the colorful crayons, building materials, Play-Doh, and classroom rewards. They immediately wanted to explore everything and asked when they would be able to use the new STEM materials. They were also excited to have their own organized supply spaces. Seeing their excitement reminded me how meaningful it is to provide students with materials that make learning feel fun, engaging, and special.\r\n Our next steps are to continue using these materials to support both academic learning and student independence. We will be using the building sets and Brain Flakes for STEM challenges where students will design, build, test, and improve their creations. We will also continue using our new organization systems to help students take responsibility for their supplies and classroom spaces. As the year continues, I hope to give my students more opportunities to collaborate, problem-solve, be creative, and take ownership of their learning.","fullyFundedDate":1783709686277,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials-for-growing-minds/10276544/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials for Growing Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chavez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10502680_orig.jpg?crop=1200,1200,x0,y600&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1778184230881","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10502680"},{"teacherId":4660226,"projectId":9824519,"letterContent":"Donations of headphones made a meaningful impact on my classroom by ensuring every student had equal access to learning tools. This created a more focused learning environment and allowed instruction to run smoothly, especially during small-group rotations and independent work time.\r\n\r\nThe headphones also supported student confidence and independence.
