The ipad I received is allowing me to stay in touch with my students while they are doing online lessons. I am able to pace the lesson: I can say which slides the students can access and when they can move on. This allows the entire class to stop and discuss the last problem as a group. Students can share how they solved the problem, what worked, what didn't work, and possible solutions. I can then allow students to move on with the lesson while only having to pause the class for a short time. \r\nStudents are also able to message me from their computer, and I can message them back. This allows the students to access me during a lesson. It also allows students who would not normally want to draw attention to themselves still get assistance with the lesson. If I have numerous students messaging me the same question, I am able to pause all computers and stop online instruction, so that we can, as a class, discuss where people are struggling. \r\nI am also able to send student solutions that I can see on my tablet to my smart board, so that all students can see a particular student's solution. We are going to be able to do some amazing projects with this printer and ink. My classroom is very much color coded. I run labs where students are put into a kitchen group. I have red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink kitchen. Not only is this going to help with projects in the classroom, I will be able to color code their lab sheets by chef number and color. \r\n\r\nI also have an assignment where students research a chef, and they will be able to print out pictures of their chef in color which will enhance their project.\r\n\r\nThere are several posters in my classroom that I like to color code as well to make it easier for students to view. One of them is my rewards chart where they earn brownie points in my class and my rewards are in color now, so that students can see it better.\r\n\r\nAs you can see from these examples, this printer is going be wonderful in my classroom to use. We will also be cooking nachos using a cast iron and then bake the nachos on the cookie sheet to melt the cheese. \r\n\r\nThe new packages and items have been arriving and the students are so excited to unpack the new kitchen equipment and put everything away in the kitchens. We use the cookie sheets so much between my culinary I and II classes. When I told the students, they were so happy. The current cutting boards that we have been using were plastic and glass. The plastic cutting boards were cracked and falling apart. The students felt very safe cutting on these cutting boards. The other boards would slip around and I would have them place wet paper towels underneath, but not anymore.
