Our students are in their first year of learning to build and code Lego SPIKE robots. We are building two teams of 6th and 7th graders who have all joined the after-school robotics club to compete at a local robotics competition. Two teachers have stepped up to help facilitate and guide them on this journey. As one of the teachers, I have personally seen how powerful robotics can be for students. I also know how beneficial it is to have access to hardware such as robot kits so that the students can experiment as they learn new engineering methods for solving complex problems on the robot challenge table. These two robot kits will help these amazing students rise to the challenge. Additionally, as we build these teams at Mendive Middle School more robots will allow us to better recruit new students in the coming years.
