We have worked a lot with observing insects and plans grow and change. We have observed the life cycle of 3 different insects and one plant. These LEGO kits offer opportunities for the students to build insect-like creatures and plant-like creations that can be made to move. After building, students write code to get them to move like real animals. For a class that needs to get their “hands dirty” to really make connections and remember what we have observed, this is the perfect solution. Nearly every student loves Legos and when a teacher can get kids to work together, using what they consider to be toys to learn it is a win/win for everyone!
