Our students now have tumbling mats, scooters, bubbles, and balls to use during recess. This equipment has brought them so much joy and excitement.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, school is their primary opportunity for safe, structured physical activity. The tumbling mats have created a space where students can safely practice rolls, tumbling, and cartwheels. They love taking their shoes off to practice their tumbling skills with friends. They are learning to wait patiently for their turns as they encourage one another to try new movements.\r\n\r\nThe scooters have quickly become a favorite. Students work together to create races and other challenges. This builds cooperation and communication skills. Even students who are typically hesitant to join group activities are confidently participating because the scooters give them a structured, fun way to engage.\r\n\r\nThe bubbles and balls have added even more variety. Bubbles have been especially impactful for students who need calming sensory input. Watching and chasing the bubbles helps them to regulate their emotions and return to class more ready to focus. The balls encourage teamwork, sharing, and inclusive play. Students are inviting classmates to join games; which in turn strengthens friendships and social skills.\r\n\r\nActive play is helping the students build strength, coordination, confidence, and positive peer relationships. It is also helping to develop their social skills and oral language skills.\r\n\r\nYour generosity did not only purchase equipment; but also, created opportunities for movement, connection, and joy. Thank you for investing in our students' physical and emotional well-being.","fullyFundedDate":1768183052100,"projectUrl":"project/playing-is-learning/9999288/","projectTitle":"Playing Is Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gonzales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2487663"},{"teacherId":6796256,"projectId":10013935,"letterContent":"I want to start by saying thank you. Because of your generosity, our classroom now has resources that are making a real difference in my students' daily learning and growth. My students are children with unique learning needs, and the materials you helped provide support them academically, socially, and emotionally every single day.\r\n\r\nThe Chromebooks have become an important part of our classroom routine. My students use them daily for individualized learning programs, communication supports, and interactive lessons that are tailored to their needs. Many of my students learn best through visual and interactive tools, and the Chromebooks help make that possible. One of the biggest improvements has been the charging station. It keeps everything organized and accessible, and my students are learning to use it independently. At the end of an activity, they now know to place their Chromebook back in its spot to charge before moving on to the next task. These small routines help build independence and confidence, which are huge goals in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe Velcro dots and laminating paper have also been incredibly valuable. I've been able to create durable visual supports like task schedules, choice boards, and adapted learning activities. Visual supports are essential for helping my students understand expectations and stay engaged throughout the day. One moment that really stood out was when a student independently followed his visual task schedule for the first time. He moved each piece of the schedule using the Velcro and completed his work step by step without needing constant reminders. It may seem like a small moment, but for him it was a big step toward independence.\r\n\r\nThe sensory materials have quickly become favorites in our classroom. The kinetic sand has been a wonderful addition and has helped many of my students regulate their emotions and stay calm. During sensory breaks or structured play, students use the sand to explore textures, practice sharing, and simply relax. It has been amazing to see how something so simple can help students reset and return to learning more focused and ready.\r\n\r\nThe Play-Doh tools are also a big hit. Students love using them during fine motor activities. These tools help strengthen the small hand muscles that are necessary for writing, cutting, and other everyday tasks. At the same time, these activities create opportunities for students to practice important social skills like taking turns, following directions, and communicating with their peers.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They were curious, eager to explore, and ready to learn. Seeing their smiles and engagement reminded me how powerful the right tools can be in a classroom like ours.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using these resources to expand our learning centers and create more adapted materials that allow students to work more independently. Our goal is always to help students grow academically while also building confidence, communication skills, and independence.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and helping create a classroom where they feel supported, engaged, and excited to learn. Having working, high-quality microphones meant their voices carried clearly throughout the room. Families will hear every line, every song lyric, and every moment of courage. What may seem like a simple piece of equipment became a tool for confidence, pride, and joy.\r\n\r\nThe smiles backstage, the applause from families, and the sense of accomplishment they will feel afterward would not have been possible without you. We have been using the cutting machine to design and create titles for our bulletin boards, giving our displays a polished and engaging look that truly celebrates student work. For our hallway garden display, students helped select and cut out flower shapes that brought our theme to life in a vibrant and cohesive way. Beyond teacher-created materials, students have also taken ownership by choosing and cutting out letters they want to use for signs, labels, and personal projects. This has added an authentic literacy component, as they think intentionally about letter formation, spacing, and word creation. The process of selecting shapes on the computer and watching them come to life through the cutting machine has connected technology, art, and literacy in a meaningful and exciting way.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reaction was immediate curiosity and excitement. Many commented on how \"pretty\" everything looked, noticing the bright paper options and the sleek design of the machine. At first, they were unsure how it worked, but once I modeled how we choose a shape on the computer and send it to be cut, their interest grew exponentially. Suddenly, every student wanted a turn to select a design. They were fascinated by the connection between the digital choices they made and the physical shapes that appeared moments later. This experience not only sparked engagement but also introduced them to basic technology skills, such as navigating simple software options and understanding sequencing. The anticipation of seeing their chosen shape cut out built excitement and pride, especially when they were able to use their letters or shapes in a real classroom display. What began as simple curiosity quickly transformed into purposeful participation.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to expand creative opportunities in our classroom. Our next project involves using the Cameo Silhouette machine to create paper flowers and other plant shapes for upcoming art projects. Students will design layered flowers, leaves, and stems that they can assemble and decorate, integrating fine motor practice with artistic expression. Additionally, we plan to create reusable stencils that students can incorporate into painting and mixed-media art activities. By making our own stencils, students will see how tools can be created to support further creativity, reinforcing problem-solving and design thinking skills. These next steps will deepen their understanding of how technology can support artistic expression while continuing to build independence and confidence. The new resources have not only elevated the aesthetic quality of our classroom but have also strengthened student voice, creativity, and engagement in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.","fullyFundedDate":1768092304509,"projectUrl":"project/cutting-into-creativity-a-cutting-machi/9989446/","projectTitle":"Cutting Into Creativity: a Cutting Machine for Little Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. M","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp376400_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1538921640095","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-conchos"},{"teacherId":2910060,"projectId":9902448,"letterContent":"My students go to math centers right after their math lesson, so they can practice what they have learned in a fun way. Students have been using the materials consistently during centers, integrating them into multiple thematic units. During our exercise unit, for example, students eagerly designed and constructed their own hand weights out of cardboard. This hands-on experience not only supported fine motor development and creativity, but also deepened their understanding of health, fitness, and how exercise equipment functions. As we transitioned into our current gardening focus, the materials have continued to play an important role. Students are now creating flowers, plants, and garden elements for our cardboard garden, transforming recycled materials into meaningful representations of real-world objects. They are also preparing to design and produce plant labels for our container garden, which supports literacy development as they practice writing plant names and identifying different types of vegetation. The versatility of the materials has allowed students to connect learning across units, blending science, art, literacy, and problem-solving in authentic and engaging ways.\r\n\r\nWhen students were first introduced to the new materials, their reactions were a combination of excitement and curiosity. Many immediately gathered around, eager to explore, yet they were also somewhat unsure about what they were seeing. They asked thoughtful questions such as, \"What is that?\" \"What does it do?\" \"How do I use it?\" and \"Can I do it by myself?\" These questions reflected both their natural inquisitiveness and their desire for independence. Initially, a few students appeared hesitant, especially as they tried to understand how the tools worked and whether they were safe. However, once we modeled appropriate use and reassured them that the materials were safe and designed for them, their confidence quickly grew. Discovering that they could use the resources without getting hurt empowered them to take creative risks.\r\n\r\nNow, the science center has become a hub of independent innovation. Students no longer wait for direct instruction; instead, they confidently enter the space with ideas in mind and begin constructing on their own. The materials have fostered independence, collaboration, and sustained engagement. What began as cautious exploration has evolved into purposeful creation, with students demonstrating ownership of their learning. They brainstorm, test ideas, revise their designs, and proudly share their finished products with peers. Overall, the new resources have not only enhanced hands-on learning opportunities but have also strengthened students' confidence, curiosity, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.","fullyFundedDate":1764689719671,"projectUrl":"project/little-builders-big-ideas-empowering-p/9842103/","projectTitle":"Little Builders, Big Ideas: Empowering Preschoolers With the Chompsaw","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. M","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp376400_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1538921640095","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-conchos"},{"teacherId":6402393,"projectId":9691651,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our DonorsChoose project to fund a sound system for our school production of Aladdin.
