These books will enhance my students' reading motivation while using the school wide STAR program. The STAR program helps students succeed in standard ELA 3.3.1, students complete a series of comprehension questions about their book. Many times they struggle to continuously focus on the books we currently have. I asked my students what type of books they would enjoy reading, these are some of their top rated. Their eyes light up when they return back from our own school library and they've picked the latest Bad Guys or other titles on my list. So, being able to have these in class will ensure they are making strides toward their reading mastery, per ELA 3.3.10 (reading fluently at grade level). They need help with reading both nonfiction and fiction, and these titles are such great stories and/or informational books.
