Students with special needs often require special instruction in the area of social behavior skills in a structured classroom setting. While playing games on the Wii my students will be able to learn how to use encouraging language while waiting patiently to take their turn. The Wii bundle comes with Wii sports and Wii sports resort so my students have a variety of games modeled that offer a fun active way to learn body control. The students will be able to enjoy learning how to play as a team. They will learn and practice skills in a small group setting where there is an opportunity for the teacher to role-play social situations. They often need to see direct modeling of appropriate social behaviors. They will then have the chance to practice the acquired skill as many times as they need.
