I have a great class of your typical 2nd grade students. They come in happy and very eager to learn. The only difference is they are very poor and pretty much have almost nothing. They definitely do not have books at home to read. We have new administration here at the school and she would like to see students focusing on reading a series of books. They are rewarded very nicely with charms if they can get through a series of books such as Henry and Mudge. Any help you can provide for us will be greatly appreciated.
