We are using these new resources daily to support hands-on learning, emotional regulation, and student engagement. One powerful moment was watching students independently choose tools that helped them focus, calm their bodies, and fully participate in lessons—something many of them previously struggled with. These materials have allowed us to create a more supportive, responsive learning environment where students feel safe, seen, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. There were smiles, curiosity, and thoughtful questions as they explored how each item could help them. Several students expressed that the resources made them feel \"calmer,\" \"more comfortable,\" and \"happy to be in class.\" Seeing their pride and ownership in caring for the materials reinforced just how impactful your support has been—not just academically, but emotionally as well.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to support our current lessons by helping students build independence, confidence, and self-regulation skills. As we move forward, students will use them during small-group instruction, independent work, and collaborative projects, allowing them to stay engaged and successful. This simple setup has become an essential part of our classroom routine. Students with running noses could quietly grab tissues and return to their work without interrupting their focus or the flow of instruction. The disinfecting wipes were used frequently to clean desks and shared materials, helping reduce the spread of illness. Students took ownership of keeping their workspace sanitized, which created a healthier environment for everyone and allowed learning to continue during the flu season. \r\nThank you again for your kindness and generosity. For many students, particularly those managing trauma, anxiety, or high levels of external stress, the opportunity to engage in controlled physical release helps them regulate emotions before they escalate into crises.\r\n\r\nStudents have reported feeling calmer and more grounded after using the crash pads, allowing them to return to class with improved focus and emotional control. The pads offer a nonverbal outlet for emotions that students may not yet have the language or confidence to express, reinforcing that their feelings are valid and manageable. This has been especially beneficial during moments of acute distress, when traditional de-escalation strategies are less effective.\r\n\r\nFrom a school climate perspective, the crash pads have contributed to fewer classroom disruptions and reduced disciplinary referrals related to emotional dysregulation. They support restorative and trauma-informed practices by prioritizing regulation over punishment and dignity over removal. Overall, the presence of crash pads communicates to students that their emotional health is taken seriously and that the school is committed to providing supportive, responsive tools that help them succeed both academically and personally.","fullyFundedDate":1727107854732,"projectUrl":"project/crash-pads-for-confidence-boosting-ment/8814341/","projectTitle":"Crash Pads for Confidence: Boosting Mental Health Through Weightlifting","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dent","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9774192"},{"teacherId":3309877,"projectId":9452981,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our LEGO Club at Trenton Central High School.
